Immigration requirements
COVID-19
Given the global COVID-19 pandemic, risks associated with international travel persist, particularly for individuals who are not fully vaccinated. For more information, see the COVID-19 section.
Entry
Entry requirements change frequently depending on the pandemic situation. Please also check with the official Egyptian authorities.
Entry is currently not subject to any COVID-19-related restrictions.
Temperature checks may be conducted at airports.
Departure and Transit
Travel to or through other countries may be restricted or require a test prior to departure. The regulations for conducting these tests may be more restrictive than those required by the destination country.
Restrictions within the country
When traveling within the country, health screenings involving temperature checks and COVID-19 tests may be conducted. In the event of a positive test or symptoms of illness, isolation may take place in state-run hospitals, which fall significantly below German standards. The costs of hospital treatment can be substantial.
Recommendations
Ensure compliance with AHA guidelines. In particular, avoid places where people gather in confined spaces, such as public transportation.
Expect mandatory quarantine measures if you develop symptoms of illness or have been in close contact with an infected person.
