Important Information for Your Liveaboard Trip
ALL ABOUT DIVING
Required diving experience
To participate in a liveaboard trip on the MY Destiny, the following documentation must be provided:
- At least 50 dives in the marine parks
- Your most recent dive should have taken place within the last year
- Diver’s certification
- Dive logbook/number of dives completed to date
The marine parks are:
- Brothers Island
- Daedalus
- Zabargad
- Rocky Islands
- Elphinstone
For the marine parks, authorities require 50 logged dives, and night dives are PROHIBITED. On all other tours that do not include the above-mentioned dive sites, participation is permitted even with fewer logged dives.
Please note: The boat manager of the MY DESTINY may exclude divers from diving operations at any time if there is an increased risk at particularly challenging dive sites, e.g., due to currents or depth.
For less experienced divers, a private dive guide can be pre-booked for 450.00 euros per week.
If you do not meet these requirements, we recommend that you fly to Egypt before the planned start of the MY DESTINY tour to gain the necessary diving experience or refresh your skills. We are happy to assist you in planning this pre-tour program.
Medical requirements
Participants in a liveaboard trip with MY DESTINY are required to confirm their physical fitness by:
undergoing a medical examination for diving (no older than 1 year) or completing the “Health Declaration.”
If the participant fails to comply with this obligation and is therefore denied service by MY DESTINY, any resulting costs or lost booking services shall be borne by the safari participant.
MY DESTINY shall in NO case be liable for bodily injury or property damage caused as a result of illness, mental health issues, misconduct, or other acute limitations in the safari participant’s fitness.
We strongly recommend that you purchase diving/travel health insurance that covers both the costs of repatriation and treatment in a decompression chamber. If you are unsure about choosing the right insurance, please feel free to contact us.
On board, we offer you the opportunity to purchase appropriate insurance from DAN for a period of 7 or 14 days at a reasonable price.

ON BOARD
Rules on Board
Smoking:
Smoking is permitted only in outdoor areas! Smoking is strictly prohibited in the cabins, the salon/lounge, and the dining area.
Safety:
Life rafts, life jackets, and lifebuoys are available on board. Fire extinguishers are located in all cabins. Please familiarize yourself with the safety procedures upon arrival on board.
Medical Emergency:
For diving emergencies, the MY DESTINY is equipped with two 50-liter oxygen tanks and two DAN kits. We recommend purchasing insurance that covers your hyperbaric chamber costs in the event of a diving accident.
You can purchase this insurance on the MY DESTINY before the start of the safari. There is also a first-aid kit on board, but it is only sufficient for common ailments or injuries.
Bathrooms and Toilets:
Please do not flush hygiene products such as tampons, pads, and toilet paper down the toilets; instead, dispose of them in the provided containers.
Climate and clothing:
The Red Sea has a dry desert climate. During the summer months, temperatures can exceed 35 degrees Celsius, while the winter months can be significantly cooler. Please ensure you have appropriate clothing and sufficient sun protection.
In the spring (February, March, April), water temperatures are still relatively cool (20 to 24 degrees) depending on wind and weather conditions. A wetsuit of at least 5 mm with a hood is recommended.
Luggage:
Please avoid hard-shell suitcases, as they are bulkier and more difficult to stow!
